Healing is hard work. It requires our intention, focus, time and energy.

Marce’s Medicinals® are well researched ancient remedies that support and strengthen the immune system to help you feel your very best.

Mushroom Tinctures

All ingredients are organic. The mushrooms* are harvested naturally from local land and forests. *Some of our Reishi mushrooms are sustainably harvested in Quebec.

Reishi: Ganoderma lucidum

Used in Traditional Chinese Medicine for over 2,000 years is ranked as the highest of the superior plants due to its capacity to prolong longevity and enhance vitality. Reishi is an adaptogen; it supports the nervous, endocrine, and immune systems, and the adrenals, which are in charge of stress management. Its adaptogenic (nontoxic), antiallergenic, and antihypertensive effects are in part due to the presence of triterpenes which act as a special kind of steroid. Reishi is well known for its anti-cancer properties, and contains polysaccharides, antioxidants and beta-glucans which ease tension, strengthen the immune system, sharpen concentration and enhance memory. According to a 2009 study in the journal Bioorganic and Medicinal Chemistry, the polysaccharides in reishi mushrooms help promote longevity, as well as treat viral infections like the flu, anxiety, high blood pressure, hepatitis, insomnia and asthma. Consuming small doses over a prolonged period of time is the best way to optimize Reishi’s positive healing attributes.

Lion’s mane: Hericium erinaceus

The brain-supporting benefits of the beautiful Lion’s mane mushroom have been studied for centuries. Dozens of studies have been published on the neuro-generative properties of Lion’s Mane. Lion’s Mane not only supports memory and concentration but also supports cognitive function and the nervous system. It should be a regular adaptogen for anyone struggling with brain fog or memory loss. Lion’s mane has also been shown to be beneficial for people struggling with anxiety and depression. Like reishi, lion’s mane reduces inflammation, strengthens the immune system, stimulates digestion and protects against cancer. Please consult your physician prior to using lion’s mane if you have a history of allergies and/or asthma. Consuming small doses over a prolonged period of time is the best way to optimize Lion’s mane’s positive healing attributes.

Turkey Tail: Trametes versicolor

Named for its colorful stripes, Turkey tail is probably the most researched of the adaptogenic mushrooms and has the most larger-scale studies to prove it works. It’s used with standard cancer treatments in Japan. Turkey tail contains two powerful polysaccharides (PSK and PSP) and has been shown to improve immune status in over 97% of cancer patients studied. PSK works by suppressing the growth of tumor cells, inhibiting the expression of genes that have the potential to cause cancer, and stimulating the immune system to produce more of the body’s own cells that attack foreign cells. Turkey tail has traditionally been used for cholesterol, liver health, and immune health. It aids digestion and has no known negative side effects. Consuming small doses over a prolonged period of time is the best way to optimize Turkey tail’s positive healing attributes.

Berries

All ingredients are organic and are harvested naturally from local land and forests.

Elderberry: Sambucus

Elderberries are rich in nutrients. Elderberries are particularly rich in flavonoids, especially anthocyanins which are responsible for their deep purple (almost black) color. These powerful antioxidants work to keep the immune system strong and resilient. The anthocyanins in elderberries boost the production of cytokines – proteins that act as messengers within the immune system – thereby enhancing the body’s immune response. Cytokines play a crucial role in the immune system’s response to disease and work in ways very similar to hormones. They can be both inflammatory or anti-inflammatory depending on what is needed and are released by immune cells either directly into the bloodstream or locally into body tissue during an immune response. These tiny berries are also believed to contain antiviral agents– compounds so potent they are thought to deactivate viruses. Thus, elderberry is the go to berry to fight seasonal colds and flu. Studies show that taking a medicinal dose of Elderberry syrup at the onset of illness shortens flu-like symptoms such as headache, fever, muscle aches and nasal congestion. It is also taken by mouth for HIV/AIDS, for sinus pain, back and leg pain (sciatica), nerve pain (neuralgia), and chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS). Consuming small doses over a prolonged period of time is the best way to optimize Turkey tail’s positive healing attributes.
