I discovered Marcy at the beginning of the pandemic when I was looking for an online yoga teacher. I live in the Midwest, and she lives in and teaches from her home in upstate New York. I was skeptical about online yoga classes, but I have to say I am very impressed with Marcy’s teaching. Her knowledge, her well-planned classes, and most of all her attention to alignment and instruction are unparalleled. She is the only teacher I have found who carefully watches *her* screen and offers you individual adjustments and feedback about what you and your body are doing in real-time, virtually. It is a remarkable skill. I highly recommend her.

Studying yoga with Marcy is an extraordinary invitation to gain precision, insight, mastery, and grace in both the inner and outer lives of the body. She brings a student’s awareness deeply into muscle, bone, tendon, and breath while, at the same time, expanding understanding of the more ethereal, non-tangible capacities of the body. It’s quite a remarkable reworking of the basic principles of alignment, balance, extension, and control. I feel very well served, well taught, and truly advanced in by her gifted teaching, and witness its impact every day.

I love Marcy’s Saturday yoga class so much. Here’s why I rarely miss it — first in person, even now on zoom:  I leave class feeling as though I have had a massage and a workout both, often needing to write because of some poetry or wisdom she has dropped, with a feeling of reverence for the natural world, humanity, aspiring to inner and outer strength, an awakened sense of the divine all around.

I highly recommend Marcy’s Anusara yoga classes, whether you are a beginner or a more advanced practitioner.  After just three months in her class, both my body and spirit feel transformed. Marcy offers just the right amount of guidance, from close and loving attention to the angle of our toes and knees to fresh and thoughtful meditations on spiritual themes. She tailors her instruction to accommodate individual needs; offers variety and challenge in each class; and, most importantly, encourages an atmosphere of trust, serenity, humor, and joy.
